The Secret Museum block is a radio proposal that presents music from periods between 1800 and 1950. This musical block takes you on a journey to more distant times with music from romanticism, traditional folklore, jazz, tropical rhythms, early avant-garde, historical oral archives, sound artifacts, and popular music. Like the Contemporary Museum block, the Secret Museum also presents a selection of musical pieces covering different stylistic currents, but with the particularity that all the musical pieces belong to a period ranging from the nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century.

Romanticism is a cultural and artistic movement that emerged in Europe at the end of the 18th century and lasted until the middle of the 19th century. During this period, music was characterized by the use of freer and more expressive musical forms, the use of chromatic harmonies and the exploration of new sonorities. The music of romanticism is characterized by being emotional, dramatic and by the use of expressive and lyrical melodies.

Traditional folklore is a form of music that is passed down from generation to generation and reflects the culture and traditions of a people. Folk music is characterized by its simplicity, its emotionality and its ability to evoke images and feelings. Folk music is a popular art form that has developed throughout the world and has been influenced by local and regional cultures.

Jazz is a musical genre that originated in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Jazz music is characterized by its improvisation, syncopated rhythm and harmonic complexity. Jazz has been influenced by African music, classical music and American popular music. Jazz is a form of music that has evolved over time and has spawned numerous subgenres such as swing, bebop, cool jazz and free jazz.

Tropical rhythms are a form of music that originated in Latin America and the Caribbean. Tropical music is characterized by its danceable rhythm and its fusion of different musical styles. Tropical music is a form of popular music that has spread throughout the world and has been influenced by African music and American popular music.

The early avant-garde is an artistic and cultural movement that emerged in the early 20th century and was characterized by the exploration of new forms of expression and the rupture with traditional art forms. In music, the early avant-garde manifested itself in the use of innovative compositional techniques, experimentation with new sounds and the exploration of noise as a musical element. The most prominent composers of the first avant-garde movements were Arnold Sch\u00f6nberg<\/strong>, Igor Stravinsky <\/strong>and Anton Webern<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

Historical oral archives are a form of preserving the memory and culture of a people. Sound artifacts refer to mechanical instruments that produced music in the period between 1800 and 1950. These instruments include music boxes, symphonions, and mechanical pianos, among others. Although these mechanical instruments were gradually replaced by more versatile pianos with greater sound power, and by gramophones that allowed the reproduction of the human voice, their fascination continues today. Popular music is a form of music that has developed over time and has reflected the culture and traditions of a people. Popular music is characterized by its simplicity, its emotionality and its ability to evoke images and feelings.<\/span><\/p>
