British composer and multi-instrumentalist, Steve Beresford's works and formations range from piano and winds to toy instruments, percussions and electronics. Let's listen to some first albums where radical improvisation is present such as "Teatime" (1975) with a line-up of piano, guitar, sax, violin, violi and percussions, "Whirled Music" (1980) with Max Eastley, David Toop and Paul BurwellThe Bath of Surprise" (1980) or from "Luton - Centre Of The Universe" (1981) with other musicians.
Together with the cellist Tristan Honsinger we listen to "Double Indemnity" (1981) and of the group General Strike -amb David Toop and David Cunningham dels Flying Lizards - the record "Danger In Paradise" (1984). With the fashion designer Anne Marie Beretta va fer el disc "Dancing The Line" (1986), amb John Zorn, David Toop and Tonie Marshall the great "Deadly Weapons" (1986) and with the veteran improvisation drummer Han Bennink "Directly To Pyjamas" (1987).
In "Cue Sheets" (1996) he compiled jazz, pop, Latin and string compositions. With Evan Parker, John Edwards and Louis Moholo afegim "Foxes Fox" (1999), with guitar player Noël Akchoté and Andrew Sharpley electronic music from "Wels, Mulhouse, Paris & Lyon" (2007) and in piano duet with the saxophonist John Butcher a track from "Old Paradise Airs" (2020).
