The solo sound project of Rafał Iwański titled 'Transformations I' explores an experimental approach to ethnic instruments such as the zanza, kalimba and other idiophones of African origin. Advanced electronic techniques are primarily used to process various acoustic sources to create organic electroacoustic music. However, this unique marriage of "foreign traditions and technologies" offers more than an ethno-environmental sound. Following the idea of John CageTransformations I' is the art of imitating 'nature in the way it operates'. The album was released on CD on February 10, 2023 by Gusstaff Records & Ether Recordsand will also appear as a limited edition of 66 12″ vinyl records released on March 10, 2023 by Don't Sit On My Vinyl.
