Dick Raaijmakers

27th february 2007 Dutch composer, experimental musician and inventor pioneer of electronic music. Like DICK RAAIJMAKERS, or like KID BALTAN, he had his most fruitful period between 1957 and 1969. From his collages with tape recordings and his sound editions we will listen to themes that appear in the exahustiu sound document "Popular Electronics (1956-1963)" of the Philips Laboratories and in "The Complete Tape Music of Dick Raaijmakers", reedited by the Dutch label BASTA. In 2006 he released an album of reinterpretations of his songs by current artists, "Reactions to the Music of Dick Raaijmakers" (2006, Basta), featuring MOUSE ON MARS, JASON FORREST, PHANTOM ORCHARD, THURSTON MOORE and TAEJI SAWAI.
